Redesign Kitchen in Jamison
Josh & Lauren had been in their home for 6 years although it had been built in 2002. When Stephanie met with them, they knew they wanted to make big changes! They were tired of their builder grade thermofoil doors, which had started to peel; were unhappy with the pantry closet and dissatisfied with the size and functionality of the island; and wanted built-in family seating.
Based on our discussions, we made the following changes:
- Replaced all doors & drawer fronts with maple, shaker style doors which included soft close hinges
- Replaced all drawer boxes with solid wood, dovetail constructed, full extension, soft close drawer glides
- Expanded the island by adding a trash/recycle cabinet along with a bookcase and customized shiplap in a contrast color
- Removed the pantry closet as well as the drywall soffit from above the refrigerator/wall oven area, transforming the space into a “family command center”
- Customized the cabinets by adding a three-piece soffit molding to the top and light rail molding to the bottom of the upper cabinets
- Designed & built a custom bench seat for eat-in area with two operating lids for additional storage
- Shopped with Josh & Lauren for countertops and backsplash and coordinated the installs of each
- Selected lighting, cabinet hardware & wall color
- Guided the color choices and style on the new kitchen table
