Redesign Kitchen in Yardley
Daniella and Tommy have been in their home for 15 years. They were tired of the dark cherry and wanted to make some functional as well as aesthetic changes to the space. We discussed adding soffit moldings to the ceiling to close the 12” gap above the cabinets, as well as the desire for a custom hood. Daniella wanted to accommodate a larger, built-in refrigerator while eliminating the “catch-all” countertop space that always felt cluttered. Additionally, there were a few broken doors and drawers that needed to be addressed.
The following changes were made to their space:
- Removed the cabinet above the stove and designed and built a custom hood
- Removed all of the cabinets along the refrigerator wall, furnished and installed a pantry closet and refrigerator cabinet with custom panels on the side to match the existing design.
- Built a 3 piece soffit molding on the top of the upper cabinets, and added light rail molding to the bottom of the upper cabinets
- Added furniture base to island
- Removed the vinyl toe kick at the base of the cabinets and replaced it with wood
- Replaced the broken doors
- Built a panel door for the new dishwasher
- Installed a soft close trash/recycle unit
- Shopped with Daniella for countertops and backsplash and coordinated the installs of each
- Selected lighting, cabinet hardware & advised on wall color
